A romantic comedy set in central Ireland, near the town of Mullingar, the play tells the story of two middle-aged neighbors living on adjoining farms who secretly pine for each other, but are held back by circumstance and acute shyness. Shanley’s lively dialogue is a delight as the characters spar with each other and their parents.
